Presents and a Wonderful Giveaway

Shopping in Marrakesh is always wonderful fun.'

You can pick up the little bowls with the calligraphy design in the souks. They come in lots of colors. The tiles are handmade by a craftsman whose workshop is between the rue riad Zitoune LaKadim and rue riad Zitoune djedid.

The painter Mortesi's shop is next to the mellah market.
But since I'm in New York, I won't be able to pick up
any of these treasures before Christmas.

Next best place for unusual and lovely presents and accessories from all round the world is  Novica's website with super women's silk scarves ( like the ones they sent me above)
and also men's accessories like cuff links and walking sticks. Leave a comment below and I'll put your name in a jar and pick a winner to receive a $100 gift certificate from Novica. Drawing next Saturday November 5th.

(Novica are also looking for people who would like to host parties featuring all their fascinating products. Go here to find out more details.

I look forward to your posts--they always bring me back to a time when I too wandered the souks of Fes and Marrakesh. What a pleasure!

I'm glad you have posted again! Your photos are beautiful and some of them make me want to visit Marrakesh (although I'm not sure how I would handle the heat...).

Love the pictures and stories you have. Never been there and I am not sure that I will sometime soon. But the Internet and bloggers like you give us the opportunity to travel and see places through your eyes and camera, we would never dream of visiting.
thank you for having me visit your Marrakesh.

I stumbled upon your blog and I am most happy I did. I am studying many worldly patterns and today I began it with patterns and designs from Morrocco. It would be super, and uncanny if I won your giveaway. Afterall there are no such things as coincidences.

The pictures of Marrakesh are fantastic. We have dear friends who are currently in Istanbul but lived for 8 years in Saudi. They have visited Marrakesh and tried to convince us to join them - oh how I would love to travel to that part of the world for a while. Someday . . . sigh.

I visited the Novica site and what lovely things they have. I'm particularly interested in one of the musical instruments (two very musical daughters) and the chess sets (both girls play). Thanks for sending us there . . .
