Ollie and Mimi: Marrakshi Cats

Mimi arrived on the roof one day and then moved in.
She was young and elegant. Soon she was a young mother.

We kept one of her boy kittens, Ollie, who was very curious about water.
He could stare at a dripping faucet for hours.

Here he is looking young and tough and bold.

Here he is at the top of the stairs leading up to the roof.
Note the traditional old tiles and the metal lamp which holds a candle.
The silhouette on the metal door is of the  big old cat who lives on the roof.

Here are Mimi and Ollie snuggling together.

What adorable cats! Were you able to bring them back with you or did you find them new homes?

So wonderful. I had a cat Ollie, too. Mimi is lovely...always like to see cats in other lands, particularly all around the Mediterranean.

These felines look to be as delightfully marked as the art around the place... I think you captured their characters and moods with some pretty top photography - without knowing them first hand LOL! Just wanted to say Well done! X

Last year we rescued 4 kittens. We kept one and she's very pregnant now. Oops, I didn't get her to the vet on time. But our kids are so excited. Cats are in no short supply in Morocco!

Mimi
was one of the very few cats in the medina to be
'fixed'
she did not like her plastic halo at all!
Good luck with your kittens

Ah, companionship to live for. The last picture of them together is very adorable.

Wonder what message water drops carry.

Your photographic eye for artistic study is wonderful. Each picture tells a story and is so enriching... I found your blog by chance and I am so happy to have found it... I have not been to Marrakesh yet...but feel I have through this visit to your blog. My time in Maroc is in Sidi Rahal and Casablanca... but my husband promises to take me to Marrakesh one day....at the moment I am trying to get him to join me here in the UK.... a challenge but necessary...as man and wife...thanks for your sharing.xx
