Taken on rue riad zitoune
djedid. One of the more charming back streets where I walked almost every day on my way to the fruit market.
The old men are watching the world go by.
The young man is working, and the little boy is in a great hurry.
Anyone interested in everyday life in Marrakesh should scroll around on the blog and even go back in time.

What a great picture. Not only is composition interesting, but the content underscores so much of what is important in arab culture. Family, respecting your older generations, community, tradition... that rug, too, was probably crafted by someone whose family has been weaving rugs for generations, a skill set that's passed down from father to son, and mother to daughter. I'm Indian, and have lived in Bahrain, and can attest to the similarities between arab culture and my own. And I've been in Canada for the past decade or so, and I love that I've had enough influence from all 3 cultures (Indian, Arab, North American) in my life that I can take the best from all of them and practice life as a citizen of the world! I wonder if you have a similar experience, seeing Marrakesh culture the way you do? Because it's not like you're just seeing it and going 'oh, okay', but you're taking snippets of it and documenting it and able to see it through a different lens than someone else might.
Excellent photo, just as the other ones on your blog are to.
