The Square at Night

IMG_0035, originally uploaded by schmidwix2.

The usual mysterious, smoky scene.
The biggest barbeque in the world - every single night of the year.
Where can all these people possibly come from?
All over the world, not to mention all parts of Morocco.
Eggs, tagines, snails, mussels, flat bread, chicken, sausages, salad.

This is my lasting memory of Marrakesh - arriving in the medina at night while the smoke rose from the vendors.

I thought I was in the most exotic place on earth.

What an atmosphere. I wonder if the smell permeates your home or if it is too far for that. I imagine that Morroco is full of exotic smells.spices, food etc.

Great pic, I feel drawn in, wonder if I will ever go to Marakesh, probably not, this will have to suffice.
