Monday Morning at the Bahia Palace

If you get to things very early, before the hordes of tourists appear, everything is lovely and peaceful.
The best part of the palace is the most distant.
Looking from the courtyard into the furthest garden.............

where young women were cleaning the fountains............

Almost everything is rather ancient, decrepit, and falling apart........which is what makes it so wonderful.

Even the plastic bucket has a certain charm.

Inside the palace light falls through stained glass onto yet another marble basin........

I love how you point out the things that are decrepid is what makes it most beautiful! Isn't that true for so many things in life ... lovely shots - especially light through the stained glass.

What a gorgeous place Elizabeth.
How magic these colours from the stained glass.

I have got 15 mails of pictures from my friend from Marrakesh and other places in Morocco A true paradise which goes on my wishlist of places to see.

Beautiful. I love the effects of sun shining through stained glass. Age does give things a delightful charm. That can even apply to humans. I may not have thought this in my youth but as I'm 'maturing' I like to think this applies ;)

The dappled light is marvelous; what enchantment must lay across everything in such a light.

Looking at these has stirred that old yearning of mine for Morocco.

I have not been to your blog lately and I see now all that I missed...its wonderful catching up!
