Musee de Marrakech

The internet went down for 2 days while I was in the middle of writing this post ( am writing this on Monday morning!) The photos here are from the Musee de Marrakech.
The part where they have contemporary art shows.

One of the rewards of blogging is meeting new and like-minded people.
After e-mails and so forth, one actually gets to put a name to the face.

Yesterday I went to Cafe France to meet Penny, Laurence and Toby
I always meet people here - very public -lots to look at.

After having mint tea, they took a tour of our little house where Robert was painting the salon - the whole place was a mess but they were very nice about it anyway....

Then we went to the Medersa ben Youssef and to the Museum - where as usual light falls in marvellous ways..........

We came back via the souks where, Toby looked into all sorts of fascinating shops with strange old things including very old, small sewing machines........
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PENNY

The Musee de Marrakech looks like an interesting place. I wish I could visit an art show there. Hope you had fun at the cafe catching up with your friends & enjoyed lots of yummy coffee. Or tea. Whichever is your preferred cafe beverage. AND cake! :)

I liked the green doors. A different kind of green. And the striped fabrics in your posting below. My friend just got back from Morocco. She wrote me, "I think I'm in love" (with Morocco)... and I laughed, remembering how I had fallen in love too!

Love the bluish greenish sort of a torquoise color that keeps popping up, cooling for the general hot environment I guess. Anyway, lovely pictures, thanks so much.

Liz--I don't comment much on your posts, but I truly enjoy them. You give us slices of life that are so interesting and inspiring. And the photos are terrific, too. Just wanted you to know...

We meet wonderful friends when we blog, we know a little about their life and interest, then the whole perspective changes when we meet them. It changes to be more personal and much better. Always good to meet someone :)

Hello Elizabeth! I checked out some weaving projects by women from an indigenous tribe in my country, who pre-dated the Spanish colonizers. Some of the striking patterns reminded me of the last photo in this post.

So glad you're back on board and especially glad how the land of blog brings like minded souls together. THAT is the best part. Also getting to visit all over the world and not even leaving your seat. Simply amazing!

I suppose the ceilings are so tall, so as to allow plenty of air circulation? That might help with the heat...

Hello Elizabeth!
I did post a comment here a few days ago, but obviously hit the wrong button or somthing and it disappeared!
Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for the birthday wishes and a BIG thank you for spending the time showing us around in Marrakech, it was very kind of you, and lovely to meet you both.
We have put a mention of you on our blog.
