Riad elArsa

We have a very little, charming house, but some of our friends have more wonderful ones.
For example, it would be lovely to have banana trees in the courtyard and a little pool to dip into on hot days.
The fruit trees mean the house is a real 'riad'.

An old, painted ceiling and some antiques would be lovely too.........

and lots of chairs to sit on in the courtyard.......

Some of our friends just live in the houses themselves, part or all of the year, and some have paying guests when they are not using all the rooms themselves.
Pretty nice to stay in a real home rather than The Holiday Inn or something generic.

The bedrooms are all on the second floor and look out onto the interior courtyard.

At our friends Susie and David's riad you can lounge on the roof and relax in the sun.

I'd much rather stay in a home. Especially one that had some of these features.

I adore banana trees. Something about the way the leaves look in the wind...

It all looks wonderful. I really like those wooden doors and the way the upper rooms look over the courtyard. Very pleasant.

my that is a lovely home, the interior courtyard is fabulous...i wish american homes were designed more like this. we would probably relax more if they were.

Dear all:
Yes,
This home is a delight. Some beautiful antiques and old Moroccan artifacts.
The design of Moroccan homes is very sensible.
Cool in the courtyard, warm on the roof and very private because secure from the street.
What more could you ask for.......?

I absolutely love these courtyards inside of Marrakesh houses. x

Oh I wish they sold plant pots like that at my local gardening store.

I never tire of looking at riads. The luxury rentals are gorgeous, but the smaller, humbler ones have their charms too, absolutely.

A banana tree growing in my courtyard would be the height of exoticism to me.

I wish Susan and David were *my* friends too !
