Sort of roughly translates as "the new road of the house of olives"..... The old men are watching the world go by. The child is in a hurry...... Rather wonderful bright rugs. This is opposite our friends Cassie and Rebecca's caftan shop.
It's kind of an essay on life: The young one is running around, swiftly, the 30-something one on the bench is working and the old ones are watching the world go by. They've lived long enough to earn a bit of contemplative living! And the colorful rugs behind them could represent the colors of life....beautiful!
Such beautiful photographs and insight on daily life in Morocco. I lived there for a year and both your and Maryam's (My Marrakesh) blogs bring me back when I'm feeling reminiscent! Congrats on the mention in Nat. Geo Traveler - well deserved!!
Thank you for your kind comments. The photo was done very quickly - wasn't sure if the people wanted to have their photos taken but looked so wonderful. As Merisi has been saying in her comments - it is always best to be very respectful of one's subjects and I either ask or make sure they are in a very public space.
