there's so much of dried foodstuff there? i'd buy everything if i am there! love night markets, ours are a burst of colours too with all the different races selling everything under the sun, have a wonderful weekend and week ahead :)
Yes, beautiful dried fruits - not a bit expensive. Apricots, dates, figs, all sorts of nuts. Also food stands with eggs, meat, snails, salads -you name it! Very popular with both Moroccans and visitors.
Elizabeth: just a quick nod and a bonjour from Southwetern France for now. Congrats about the March National Geographic online. Looking forward to it. And will be back for a leisurely stroll through your lovely blog very soon.
Nightfall has its own rhythms and colours, you caught the moment beautifully! I love dried fruits, I only have to be careful not to eat any that were preserved with sulfites.
Thank you for visiting my little blog, Elizabeth. I can't imagine how you stumbled upon it, but I am glad that you did for it allowed me to follow you here to your own.
I've just taken a few minutes to look around. What a wonderful, even magical world you enjoy! It's so very different from my own that I'll have to return and read more and see more.
Enjoy your visit with your son in New York. It must be something of a shock to switch climates like that.
wow what a great atmosphere. My best friend from Holland is lucky to go next month for a round trip through Marrocco. She is going to Marakesh as well. I shall pass on your blog to her to have a look at the magic place.
My Robin is the same. Every now and then he needs to get a mention on the catblog or in my website, with teh odd picture here and there. Otherwise I think he begins to feel a bit transparent and starts to slowly disappear. He is very lovely ( though Maurice does not think so unless he has Parma ham) We will try and do a door photo on wednesday.

Twilight and the evocative scent of spices filling the purple sky. Would that I could smell the picture!

I like the photo of the food tent with lights (and Robert).
I'm suddenly craving Medijool (sp?) dates.

I love that time just at sunset-so magical!
I too would love to shop there: dates and apricots would be on my grocery list!
PS: Hello, Robert!
Hello, I came here to check out your photos of cats, and WOW! Your photos and words are wonderful. What a treat.

Love wandering in your world. There is a certain magical "other worldliness" about it that is like a spell.
Great pics enhance the atmosphere!
