An Earthly Paradise

Once upon a time I lived in the country and had a big garden with two streams in it. Now I live in a five hundred year old house in the middle of the city so I was very happy to be invited to spend the day at a friend's house out in the country.

Looking out of the small garden towards the olive orchard.

Oranges in January...........

Geraniums chosen with care at the garden center, waiting to be planted.

Bougenvillia at the garden center to grace a wall or roof top.

Looking up towards the mountains.

Hello Elizabeth and thanks for your comments... glad you like my work, and pleased to hear from someone writing in Morocco :) where it looks much warmer than here!
Best wishes for 2008 :) Rima

A great deal warmer!
Bright blue sky today. I just hung the wash on the roof terrace but chilly downstairs where I'm writing with the gas fire on.

Wow! That place looks amazing. I say sell up in the medina and move out there so I can collect some more animals!

Oranges! Geraniums! And the weather in England is...cold and windy. You aren't missing much :)

Elizabeth,
Thank you for visiting my blog. The recent posts can be very misleading. I don't LIVE in Michigan, I was just visiting there. I live in sunny Southern California about 30 miles north of Malibu. I have a bougainvillea blooming, too, and my tangerine tree has fruit ready to pick. So my photos of snow and ice show just how shocked our poor hands, noses and feet were. We are back from our trip and it's raining in Cali!

Hello Elizabeth and thank you for visiting me of late :) You have a wonderful blog and I will be coming back - so evocative and magical and I can't tell you what a visual and imaginative treat it was to see and ''hear'' of organges and geraniums in coldest January :) Thanks for that lovely boost ; )

Everything here is ice, cold and dark now so it was like a sanctuary coming to your blog today :-)

How fantastic, Elizabeth!
My cousin said he has Christmas Day lunch on his Gueliz terrace...
You lucky, lucky people!

I think I will post pictures of the lunch we ate too!
I'm certainly bless to live in such a warm place.
All you people in cold places must enjoy being cosy inside.
In the summer here, of course, it's a great deal TOO hot.
